‘On 7 May 2019, five students who are members of the target group of the project “PRomotion Of Identity, Euopean Culture and Tradition” (ref. no. 2018-1-IT02-KA229-047925_3), visited the “Retezat” Guest House, a warm place which is situated at the foot of the Retezat Mountains, away from the city, the noise and the polluted air.

We visited this guest house because it is the only one in our area that promotes the local customs and traditions. We discussed with the owner, Mr Parau, a successful, well- known businessman. He told us what tourists can see and do here depending on the season. In winter, for example, they can see the Christmas traditions or go skiing. In summer, they can visit the two adventure parks, the two traditional museums or go hiking.

He also talked about his present and future projects. Amongst the projects he has already created, there are two traditional museums which are pretty close to the guest house, one with a traditional room and the other one in which there are a lot of traditional tools.

Guided by Mr Parau, we visited the museums and then talked about the history of the area in which we were and of the tools. We learned a lot of things about the traditional families who have been living in this area for more than ten generations.

Some of us had never seen this place before, nonetheless, we were speechless.
